Opening Ceremony of NOSMUN’24 Entitled "Modern Renaissance"

افتتاح مؤتمر نادي نموذج الأمم المتحدة بعنوان "النهضة الحديثة"

عُقد افتتاح المؤتمر الثالث عشر لنادي نموذج الأمم المتحدة، المدرسة الوطنيّة الأرثوذكسيّة-الشميساني، الخميس 24 كانون الثاني 2024 بعنوان "النهضة الحديثة" في فندق الشيراتون-عمان، بحضور معالي وزير الخارجية الأردني الأسبق وعضو في مجلس الأعيان، السيد ناصر جودة، وأعضاء من الهيئة الإداريّة لجمعيتنا الأم، جمعيّة الثّقافة والتّعليم الأرثوذكسيّة، و400 طالب وطالبة من أكثر من 15 مدرسة. تحدث معالي السيد ناصر جودة عن أهمية التعليم وعن الأوضاع في غزة والضفة، موقف الأردن الداعم والمبدئي لهم وحقهم بالوجود والاستقلال والكرامة.

وقدمت جوقة موزاييكا عرضًا موسيقيًا بقيادة منسق التربية الموسيقية في المدرسة ندي المنى.

ينظم طلبة نادي نموذج الأمم المتحدة هذا المؤتمر كل عام، حيث يشارك الطلبة كممثلين للأمم المتحدة ومحاكاة لجانها، والتعرّف إلى الدبلوماسية والسياسية العالميّة والعلاقات الدّولية والقانون والعلوم والتكنولوجيا والقضايا الإنسانية، ويمارسون النقاش والتفكير النقدي والبحث والتحدث.

مؤتمر NOSMUN من أحد أكبر مؤتمرات أندية نموذج الأمم المتحدة الذي يعقد في الأردن منذ عام 2006.

فخورون جدا بجميع طلبتنا الأحبّاء لإظهار مهاراتهم القيادية وحماسهم بإشراف مسؤولة النادي دوريس سماوي ودعم وإشراف من نائب المديرة لشؤون الطلبة لانا برغوث.

The opening ceremony of the 13th Annual NOS Model United Nations Conference commenced on Thursday, January 25, 2024, entitled "Modern Renaissance”, at the Sheraton Hotel- Amman, with the presence of Jordan’s previous Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senator in the Jordanian Upper House of Parliament, H.E. Mr. Nasser Judeh, OES Board Members and almost 400 students from more than 15 schools.

H.E. Mr. Nasser Judeh, shared his valuable insights on the importance of Education, the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, Jordan’s continued support for the Palestinian cause, and their right for existence, resistance and human dignity.

A choir performance was presented by Mosaica Singers, instructed by NOS Music Coordinator Nedy Muna.

It is worth mentioning that NOSMUN, where students roleplay as delegates, simulating UN committees and learning about diplomacy, global politics, international relations and law, science and technology and humanitarian issues, is organised by our MUN students. Students practise debate skills, critical thinking, research and public speaking.

The NOSMUN conference is one of the largest Model United Nations Club conferences held in Jordan since 2006. We are very proud of our MUN club students for showing great leadership and enthusiasm, supervised by NOSMUN Director Doris Samawi and the guidance of Principal’s Deputy for Student Affairs Lana Barghouth.
